The workbooks contain all the words that students are expected to both read and spell correctly. The spellings have been compiled from the Entry Levl 1. 2 and 3 word lists specified by DfE and provided in Appendix 2 of the Functional Skills Entry Level English Qualification and Assessment Specification. Tasks include practising spelling the words using the look, say, cover, write method: inserting the correct word into a sentence using words in the list.
